Days Out

Day out to Brighton

Clementines granny and uncle came to stay with us last week, and we were super busy doing lots of things. On Wednesday we headed down to Brighton to see Clems other uncle. I really like Brighton, it’s a bit like London but by the sea. The weather also managed to stay nice as well, despite looking like it might rain a few times.

I love wandering around the laines, there are so many independent shops full of all sorts to look at and things to buy. I can highly recommend going to Cloud 9 for cake or ice-cream. I had the most amazing peanut butter caramel cupcake, and a massive hot chocolate from there.

Sorry for the half eaten cake, but it was super yummy and that hot chocolate! Oreos, cream, flake, marshmallows – heaven! I might be slightly biased because Clems uncles girlfriend runs one of their stores but seriously. The cake is amazing. Obviously the best thing to do after all of that sugar was to head to the beach and pier to walk it all off and try to win (and fail) a cuddly toy/prize.

I love going on the pier, and it’s not just the smell of chips, doughnuts and candyfloss. We were there just as the sun was starting to go down, the starlings were out doing their murmurations and everything looked really pretty. I’ve never been brave enough to go on the rides at the end but Jesse and Clems uncle Mel decided to go on one. After spending a silly amount trying to win Clem a toy from the grab machines we admitted defeat and headed back for dinner.

Does anyone love Brighton as much as me? Do you have a favourite place to visit if you go there?

I actually live in Brighton so I have a few places that I love. Talk of tea is my favourite cafe but it is a little hidden gem just away from the centre of town. I’d also recommend trying Food for Friends at least once – it may be a veggie restaurant but it serves some of the best food in town!

For me it is more about when you go – first weekend of July they do paddle around the pier by the West Pier and it is always so incredible!

Oh you are lucky to live there. My partners brother and gf are actually veggies so that sounds ideal for somewhere we could go next time we visit them. Thank you.x

I’ve only been to Brighton twice but I love the place. I could spend hours just wandering around the shops. You’ve made me so jealous – I want to go now! Maybe I’ll try and find a cheap b&b for a long weekend next year. Thanks for linking to #Findtribe

Good idea! You definitely need more than a day down there. x
