Blogging

It’s Blogging Awards Time.

I’m sure by now everyone is aware that it is blog award time for parent bloggers. Both the Mad Blog Awards (mum and dad blog awards) run by Tots100 and the BiBs, the Brilliance in Blogging Awards run by Britmums have both opened up nominations this week. I’ve already done my nominations for the #MadBlogAwards and I am currently in the process of deciding who to nominate for the #BiBs so I just wanted to write a little post about a few of the people who I think deserve a nomination and what category.

This Mama Life – I love reading Sarahs blog and I also really enjoy watching her YouTube videos. I’m super nosey so I really like seeing what they get up to on a weekend and her shopping hauls are fab too. I would nominate Sarah for either the Best Use of Video or Beauty/Fashion because I absolutely love linking up to #weekendtotstyle and seeing what little I has been wearing.

Inside Martyns Thoughts – Best Schooldays Blog. Martyn is a single stay at home dad who also home schools one of his boys. If you haven’t already checked his blog out you should.

Hello Archie – Photography/Writer. I love how honest Kaye can be, her design skills are fab (shame that isn’t a category) and she takes some beautiful photos.

Mudpie Fridays – I love a good crafting session and this lady has some excellent posts so definitely gets my vote in the craft category.

Dear mummy blog – preschool/toddler blog. I love reading all about Bellas adventures, a toddler who blogs – amazing!

Mummy and the Bubbas – now this was where I found it difficult because I also love watching Staceys YouTube channel. Luckily there are two video categories over the two different awards which made it easier in the end.

Mummy Daddy and Me Makes Three – I love this blog. Definitely gets my vote for photography, lifestyle or travel.

There are so many fabulous bloggers out there and I wish everyone could be nominated. I know I’m starting to sound like that girl from Mean Girls now sorry (but it’s true)

So I’m about to do something scary and terrifying but I did say in my goals for 2016 post that I wanted to do more blogging and put myself out there more. So I am going to do something that I never thought I would do. Ask for your votes. I vaguely remember the awards last year. I’m fairly sure I used them as a way of finding new blogs to read. I must admit I didn’t even think about entering myself for any of the blogging awards this year until I got a DM on twitter from someone saying that had nominated me. I have to admit I felt super happy. I know I don’t stand a chance of making any of the final lists but just to know that there is at least one person out there (that isn’t my partner!) who enjoys my blog was amazing. I started blogging properly a year ago now, March 2015. My blog is older than that but I didn’t really start doing anything until then. Since then I’ve joined in with linkys, I’ve made a twitter/Instagram/facebook page, I’ve worked with a few brands including The Gro-Company, Random House and Snapfish. I’ve joined in with groups on facebook, I’m even tempted to go to a blogging conference! Having the opportunity to work with brands is amazing. I never expected that, I’m still surprised whenever I get a comment! I’ve also found some amazing blogs and bloggers which has been amazing. I know my blog is tiny compared to most, I’ve even seen a blog that only started a month ago with way more followers on Twitter than me. I’m not the most active when it comes to promotion, that’s something I need to work on but I do love blogging. As a stay at home mum it keeps my brain going. I love taking photos, doing crafts and cooking, 2 things I really want to blog about more. I feel like I’m finally starting to get somewhere with it.

I’m not sure if I qualify for the best new blog in the #MadBlogAwards as it states – this category celebrates blogs that are 12 months old or less on the date the MADBlog Awards launch. I did only start blogging properly 12 months ago but if not then I definitely qualify for the fresh voice category in the #Bibs. If you love reading my little old blog and don’t know who to nominate for either of those categories (or any other categories you think I fit in) then feel free to put me down.

For the #BiBs2016 you will need –

Good luck to you! I know I’ve been nominated for the MADS but I’m not sure who by (it’s not even my mum!) – it’s so flattering, isn’t it?! I don’t think I stand a chance next to the big names but it’s great just to get a look in. I’m deciding who to nominate myself at the moment.

Oh wow I am honoured that I made you list thats so lovely thank you so much 🙂 I too started in March 2015 and its amazing how time flys but you have achieved so much so well done you. I think the MADS is 12 months but the Bibs 18 months so new voice would work for you. I wish you the best of luck with then, I know what you mean bout just having a vote making all the difference. You should definitely come to a blogging conference I learnt so much! Although with the birth of number 2 in a month or so I don’t think I will be making it this year. Thank you so much for joining us at #BloggerClubUK hope to see you again this week xx
